'ENDS OF THE EARTH' by Ágota Tálos
A native of Zamardi, Hungary, Ágota Tálos is an impressionist artist and teacher, as well as an active member of the Hungarian Professional Artist League. Ágota has exhibited her paintings in The United States of America, Indonesia, and all over Europe.
After meeting an Australian tourist from the NSW south coast holidaying in Hungary one evening, Ágota was convinced that the finest beaches in all of the world were to be found in the Illawarra, NSW. Living in a land locked country and never having seen a real coast line before, Ágota was determined to fly to Australia and see the beaches of the NSW coast; of Shellharbour and Wollongong and Kiama. This trip inspired Ágota’s exhibition ‘Ends of the Earth’, in which she would travel to the ends of the earth to paint, sketch, and draw, the literal ends of the earth. Ágota is the founder of the International Hungarian Annual Artist retreat, situated in her home town of Zamardi on the Balaton Lake. Since her ‘Ends of the Earth’ Exhibition Ágota has returned to Hungary and encourages all Australian artists to travel to Hungary and share the unique talents of our continent with all of Europe. |
