ROMEO & JULIET

For never was a story of more woe
"Young men's love lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes".
There are very few people who don't know of the immense and terminal love story that is Romeo and Juliet. It is more than a play, it is an emotional well from which all of us at some point in our lives have, or will draw from.

Two families, affluent and influential, in a state of war spanning back generations continue their feud in the streets of Verona. The romantic young Romeo meets the daughter of his father’s enemy, Juliet, and an unrequited, cataclysmic love ensues. Their names ensure they can never be together but their hearts will not be tamed by alphabetic inheritance. There is death, lies, and mistaken identity, as these two star crossed lovers fight against fate to secure their love, and, in the end; never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.

Romeo and Juliet is undoubtedly Shakespeare's most famous tragedy, it is also one of his most versatile. It is the works versatility that that has compelled the SHEwolves of SHEkespeare to create a brand new, all female, modern interpretation, of the play. Maintaining the language of the text, SHEkespeares Romeo & Juliet is a modernised, condensed version of the play that utilises multimedia and modern technology to bring this timeless tale to life.
